This elderly man is on long term oxygen due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He recently complained of irritation of the right eye. The eyelashes of the right eye was stuck with yellowish crust. The patient was diagnosed to have staphylococcal blepharitis of the right eye and was managed with a 2 week of chloramphenicol ointment to the right eyelid. The common causative organisms include staphylococcus aureus and staphylococcus epidermidis.
