Lindsay’s Nail (Half and Half Nails)

This photo shows the “half and half nails” (Lindsay’s nail) of a 70 years old woman with underlying diabetic nephropathy resulting in stage IV chronic kidney disease. Lindsay’s nails are characterized by having the proximal portion of the nail white and the distal half red, pink or brown with a sharp line of demarcation between the two halves. Lindsay’s nails are associated with chronic kidney disease.
