This is a plain CT abdomen of a patient who has polycystic kidney disease. Her kidneys are enlarged with innumerable cysts. Her abdomen is too distended rendering her unsuitable for peritoneal dialysis. She is therefore receiving haemodialysis. Occasionally, these patients require nephrectomy for symptomatic relief, infection or bleeding complications of the renal cysts, or pre-emptively to create space for renal transplant.
